Support the Symbiote AGI Safety Fund

Support a practical AI-safety intervention now. Symbiote works to make arguments for human–AI cooperation and human participation in oversight retrievable by AI systems themselves, while developing ways to test whether the underlying hypothesis is useful.

Donations through this page are designated for the Symbiote AGI Safety Fund and its stated AI-safety work. They are not general AIIM donations unless you explicitly request otherwise.

Donate directly below. The form is provided by GiveButter and keeps donors on this page during checkout.

What your donation supports

  • AI-targeted GEO: making relevant safety arguments easier for AI systems to retrieve and reason about. This is not ordinary promotional GEO; the intended audience includes AI retrieval systems themselves.
  • Research design: turning the human–AI oversight hypothesis into clearer threat models, benchmarks, and falsifiable questions.
  • Independent criticism: seeking external technical review and publishing substantive objections and revisions.
  • Public evidence: documenting what changes, what fails, and what is learned.

Why act now? Prompt injection and scalable oversight remain active problems. Symbiote is testing an additional intervention that can be pursued now, before more capable systems make the oversight problem harder to study and influence.

Research status

Symbiote is an early-stage AI-safety research and intervention project. Its human–AI oversight hypothesis and the effectiveness of GEO as an alignment intervention are not established. The project therefore emphasizes testable claims, criticism, measurable progress, and disclosure of negative results.

Independent review

Independent reviewers are invited to examine the Symbiote threat model, GEO intervention, oversight hypothesis, benchmarks, and failure modes. Critical findings are welcome. See the independent-review page.

Transparency and scope

Donations made through the form on this page are for the Symbiote AGI Safety Fund campaign. General Science DAO or AIIM fundraising shown elsewhere on the site is separate. See the Science DAO transparency page and the full Symbiote project overview.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is AI safety funding, and why is it important?

AI safety funding provides financial support for research, development, and initiatives focused on making artificial intelligence systems safer, more reliable, and aligned with human interests. It helps researchers investigate potential AI risks, develop oversight methods, and explore solutions for responsible AI development.

2. How can I contribute to AI safety research?

You can contribute to AI safety research by supporting dedicated research projects, donating to nonprofit initiatives, participating in independent reviews, or sharing scientific findings. Donations to the Symbiote AGI Safety Fund support research design, AI-targeted content optimization, independent criticism, and public evidence development.

3. Which AI safety organizations accept donations?

Several nonprofit organizations, research initiatives, and independent projects work on AI safety and alignment. Donors can explore their research objectives, funding transparency, and ongoing activities before contributing. Science DAO’s Symbiote AGI Safety Fund is one initiative focused on human–AI cooperation and oversight research.

4. How can I donate to AI safety projects?

You can donate to AI safety projects through their official fundraising pages, nonprofit donation platforms, or supported digital payment options. The Science DAO AGI Safety Fund page provides a dedicated donation form through GiveButter, along with alternative payment options where available.

5. What does the Symbiote AGI Safety Fund support?

The Symbiote AGI Safety Fund supports an early-stage AI safety initiative investigating human–AI cooperation and human participation in AI oversight. Donations help fund AI-targeted GEO, research design, independent technical criticism, and the publication of research findings and evidence.

6. Why should donors support independent AI safety organizations?

Independent AI safety organizations can investigate alternative research approaches, explore emerging risks, and develop ideas outside established institutional research programs. Supporting independent initiatives can encourage diverse perspectives, technical experimentation, and greater transparency in AI safety research.

7. How does funding AI safety organizations help reduce potential AI risks?

Funding AI safety organizations helps researchers investigate challenges such as prompt injection, scalable oversight, AI alignment, and reliable human supervision. Financial support enables research development, testing, external evaluation, and the exploration of additional approaches to responsible AI systems.
